ABOUT
Hanaa Safwat is a visual artist based in Cairo and Richmond. She recieved a BFA in Scenography from The Fine Arts Faculty at Helwan University and is currently a candidate for an MFA in Painting and Printmaking at VCUarts.
She has exhibited work in PhotoCairo 5, Nile Sunset Annex, Kunsthal Aarhus, among other venues and public spaces. She has performed in Qamar Qamar Festival, Contemporary Dance Night Festival in Cairo, Nessim Al Raqs Dance Festival in Alexandria, and Corner College, Zurich. Her writing has been published in Mada Masr among other publications.
